Chapter 9

"Mordrednida" 7. 10. 12
This is a drawing of Mordred's daughter. Even though Mordred in Arthurian Mythology never did have a daughter, I drew this because I thought in my head : What would happen if someone somehow found out that they were the daughter/son of a famous villain?  This drawing is also part of a novel I'm going to write. The artwork was done in color pencil. I was inspired by Arthurian mythology to draw, and possibly write, this.

Chapter 8

The Sisters Grimm: The Council of Mirrors
By Michael Buckley
The Sisters Grimm: The Council of Mirrors was the most intense book in the entire series. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 9 and a half because it still had that hilarious spark to it and was stuffed like a turkey with action. The only problem was that when Daphne was trying to find three witches, as the prophecy had said she would do, they talked about Frau Pfefferkuchenhaus as if she was still alive. In the two books back, that witch died in a war. That problem wasn't too big, so it could've reached a 10. The ending made me so excited, but I'm not going to give it away.  I got interested in the book when I heard that this series was concluding. I was so excited when it came out! People who love action, fairytales, and comedy would love this final book to the Sisters Grimm series. As Daphne would say it, this book was filled with "shenanigans". :)

Chapter 7

Chinese Cinderella: The true story of an unwanted daughter
By Adeline Yen Mah
Chinese Cinderella was really good. I could feel the pain and suffering that the author had to go through in her youth. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give this a 10 because if I could feel the way the author feels, the author is good. The story is almost like the actual "Cinderella", but without the glass slippers and pumpkin. I would recommend this to people who like to learn about the culture of China and the history of China.
When Adeline was born, her mother died, so now her siblings call her "bad luck" and despise her.
When Adeline's father remarries with a Chinese Parisian, things get worse. Niang, Adeline's new step mother, makes Adeline's life miserable and only tends to her biological kids.
In school Adeline is worshipped, since she gets a lot of medals and awards. In home, the only people who are her fairy godmothers are Aunt Baba, Ye Ye, and Nai Nai.
Her father treats Adeline like she's invisible, Niang hates Adeline, and it seems as if Adeline's step siblings get whatever they want.
Will Adeline have a happily ever after? Or will she be stuck in her living nightmare?

I read this book because it looked interesting when Alex was reading it for his summer reading project. It was short and only took me two hours to read. :)

Chapter 6

"Hand" - 1.2.12

This is my hand. This drawing was made by color pencils.
My Mom inspired me to do this because she showed me how to do it
and told me it kind of gives it a 3-D effect.

Chapter 5

"A Fairy"  6.27.11

This is a drawing of a fairy. I made it with black chalk pastel. I decided to draw it because I was inspired by an another drawing I saw in the book The Sisters Grimm.

Chapter 4

This is a drawing of a girl.  I made it with brown color pencils and crayons.
I drew it because I felt like drawing something that is simple
and bold.

Chapter 3

The Sisters Grimm-Fairytale Detectives By Michael Buckley

This book is about a tough girl named Sabrina and a spunky girl named Daphne. They lived in an orphanage for 1 year and went from foster families to the next  family. They meet an old lady that Sabrina is convinced is supposed to be dead. Then weird stuff happens like "fireflies" bite, a mysterious door and a giant that takes over the town. I enjoyed the book because it references famous tales and characters.  There are other books in this series: The Unusual Suspects, The Problem Child, Once Upon a Crime, Magic and Other Misdemeanors, Tales From the Hood, The Everafter War, and The Inside Story.  I heard there may be more books in the future. On the scale from 1 to 10, I give it a 9.  I recommend this book to people who like fairytales and mystery.   This is one of my favorite books. Enjoy! :)
